Two years ago I was referred to the Swearington Clinic for treatment of injuries sustained in two separate automobile accidents where I was rear-ended by another car. Symptoms included chronic neck, shoulder, and back pain. I had tried different treatments for two or three years including neck braces and exercises prescribed by the medical profession, chiropractic manipulation, and acupuncture. George Swearington, NDC, began treating me with hypertonic muscle deactivation (HMD) therapy in those areas of chronic pain, and in muscle not as severely affected by the auto accidents.
My life style over five years — long daily commutes, several hours daily on the computer, plus work as a fine artist — contributed to this chronic condition, while the most serious auto accident was a little over three years ago. My pain level, on a scale of 1-10 with 10 the highest, was usually off the scale and never below a 7 or 8.
I went into treatment at the Clinic with hope that the treatment would help, but not really expecting anything more than with other treatments. Swearington insisted I follow his treatment outline in terms of dedication to the length of treatment and frequency. After one HMD treatment, it was evident I was going to have relief. Within three weeks, the improvement was very dramatic, and in a few short weeks I was almost pain free. Another month of continued treatment brought total relief from pain and complete movement in my neck.
I have had a couple of occasions to return for treatment following strain and re-injury to the neck and back area but everything corrected again to normal within just a few short treatments.
In the past year or so I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my hands and was losing the ability to bend many of the finger joints. Frequently, holding a toothbrush or tying shoelaces was very difficult. The same HMD techniques applied to my hands and arms have greatly reduced the stiffness, swelling, and pain and most of the mobility has been restored to my hands.
I cannot say enough about this treatment not only for its quick results, but also for the lasting results. This treatment works!
